B2B Social Network Sites Advantage

By John Joseph Decker

EDUCATION--Key to Internet Marketing Success

Owning an internet business is as fun as it is profitable. It doesn't take a lot of money to start your own online business; however, it will require patience, perseverance, and a real desire to become financially independent. Ninety seven percent of all internet businesses fail. They fail because of poor planning, direction, lack of skill and or knowledge. There is an innumerable amount of get rich quick internet schemes out there promising immediate success. Many programs offer step by step solutions but purposely skip critical steps. Especially those steps essential to laying a solid foundation for you to build on. I may be wrong but can it be they don't want you to know the critical steps? It's to their advantage because they would lose sales and you will ultimately become their competitor. Savvy internet marketers will tell you just enough to keep you coming back for more never willing to fill in all of the blanks for you. That's how they make their killing. Simply, by selling similar products to you over again. Some internet marketers duplicate this process to prey mostly on the unlearned novice looking for quick and easy money. Unfortunately, this tactic creates time wasted and unnecessary costs that could have been avoided.

Experience has taught me Making Money Online Made Easy is a misnomer. Sure one can make money on the internet using simply applied techniques but if you want to make big money on the internet you must be willing to do some homework. Whether you are a tradesman or degreed professional the common denominator for both is education. Firstly, Be as patient as you possibly can when it comes to starting your Home based internet business. Go to the library or book store and buy some books on subjects like affiliate marketing, AdWords, AdSense, network marketing, how to write sales letters, articles, blogging, search engine optimization, list building, email marketing and autoresponders. Patience and due diligence will save you time and money in the long run. Screen your emails carefully, be selective instead of falling prey to the obvious scams. Use some as training tools for writing your own ads. You may even find some decent bonafide opportunities for your portfolio. Educate yourself before buying into all of the hyper-motivating get rich quick programs you're receiving in your inbox. To reiterate--nothing takes the place of education.

B2B SOCIAL NETWORKS ADVANTAGE

Social networking sites are a great place to start, especially for those that are new to internet marketing. Even if you are an experienced internet marketer you can achieve great visibility for your internet based business with B2B networking sites. Some good Social Network Marketing Sites provide excellent resources. They automate your marketing efforts by sending contacts (which will email you with their offers) directly to your unique profile based on the market niches you select. You can send emails to them and add them to your contact list for future communications. As more people join the B2B network your customer base grows exponentially in very little time and effort on your part.

COST

Most B2B Social Network sites are free to join; however, your earning potential with these sites is greatly affected by your membership ranking within the network. Executive, managing and independent representative rankings are typical levels of membership. Costs range from $10 to $30 per month. The lower cost ranking providing limited tools and resources while the highest cost ranking maximizes your exposure and provides maximum tools and resources.

TOOLS AND RESOURCES

Ads placement, types of ads placed, number of emails you can send and receive, marketing tools provided by the site, commission percentage based on bringing new members on board, blogs, forums, skype and etc. are all things to consider when choosing your membership ranking.

Feel Like You Have a Wikipedia Mind and You're Living in a YouTube World?

By Wil Langford Platinum Quality Author

Most of us have adjusted to the internet quite nicely and for some it was a welcome relief. We watched the dumbing down of society through years of television watching as attention spans shrunk and reading scores plummeted. The internet, with its written content seemed like the salvation of intelligent life on our planet.

But the dreaded video, like dandelions on the lawn, would not be gone for long. Tapping into the new trend and helping themselves in the process, Google bought Youtube and quicker than you could say, well, Google, the internet plunged into its next crisis.

Between the splogs written in pidgin English and the overload of videos, the internet seems doomed to become just another fancy television with booku commercials and 18 million shopping channels. Ebooks and other ventures to put the written word on the net have faded and Amazon, the world's largest bookstore is now probably also the worlds largest video store, thanks to the internet.

Our kids were reading on the internet, now, once again, they are just watching. So what is the problem? Reading is active, thoughtful, mindful. Watching is passive.

All videos are not bad, of course, and diversions for relaxation's sake are fine. But given the choice, too many people will just watch life past them by. Couch potato-ism led to obesity and lower test scores and a population that had never opened a classic book or had the attention span to read one.

If you feel this trend is not in the best interest of humankind, you're not alone. In a free society, there is nothing we can do, but watch our fellow citizens slowly become extras in the Movie "Idiocracy." On the other hand, it may not be all bad. Educate your children well and make sure they read books and learn how to think. There is a big difference between watching and observing, and teach them that difference. Then, their chances of success will be greatly enhanced because the competition will be the "tubers," the watchers.

Don't despair. There are sill real authors and writers and thinkers out there and you can meet them at the library, or online.

The Benefits of Learning the Basic Web Programming Language HTML

By Glenn Hodges

Regardless of what you have heard, it will always benefit the novice webmaster to learn some basic web coding languages. The most important web programming language to be familiar with is html or hyper text markup language. With that said, there is no longer any need for you to remember what html stands for, as everyone refers to the language as html. Many web hosts offer applications and many programs exist to make building a website more automated, however a basic understanding of the languages is still beneficial, if not imperative.

There are several reasons that everyone who wants to work with websites should learn these basics. The most compelling reason is the need to edit or tweak web pages. Whether you are using a program or online editor to create your website or you have purchased an existing website, you will likely need to edit one or more web pages. When the need to tweak your site arises, it is critical that you have some basic coding skills. Other arguments for gaining some coding knowledge include creating cleaner or neater pages, repairing broken pages, including links within pages, adding "cool" effects to your pages and reading other's websites.

Why html? Very simply, html is the foundation language for building web pages. The language was created back in the early 90's and has evolved continually since. HTML will continue to evolve and will remain a staple of the web coding community for quite some time. Other languages will often utilize html within coded pages or integrated within scripting pages. Essentially, html is Web Coding 101 and remains the logical choice for beginner's to start their web code learning. Just as an example, I have used some very basic html coding while submitting this article. The code allows me to add a link to another web page, as you will see in the next paragraph.

HTML basics can be learned very easily and inexpensively via the internet. There are many tutorials, guides and eBooks which can assist the newcomer or perhaps even someone wishing to learn more advanced skills. Your local book store will likely have a section dedicated to computer programming with books teaching html at all levels.

HTML has several versions, however there is little reason for the novice to learn anything but the latest edition. Once you have mastered the basics of html, you may want to venture into some other web coding languages. Some examples might include CSS, PHP, Javascript, CGI or XML and the list could go on and on. All of these languages and many more are used in the web pages that your view while surfing the internet. And like html, a website owner would do well to understand a bit about how they work.

Gaining a basic understanding of the inner workings of web pages does not need to be a daunting task. And one should not be intimidated by the large number of programming languages used in web pages today. Simply starting with html, reading through some tutorials and using the skills you learn to create a few simple web pages will help you on your way. The information you need to get up to speed with html is available at no cost and the tools you need to practice your skills are most likely already in your possession. So there is no need to wait any longer, just sit back, read and learn.

How to Close a Retail Store

By Travis W Walker

So, how DO you close a retail store? That seems to be a common question among retailers these days with the economy in a tailspin, but the more important question is this: "How do you close a retail store PROFITABLY?"

And that is a question that doesn't seem to get one good answer. Well, for most independent retailers, if the economy has really beaten you down and you haven't been able to establish any sort of marketing plan to accommodate for the economy, then closing your business is definitely the best answer to your woes.

With the question being simple in context, the answer is somewhat complex, but this is an area of consulting I've been doing for quite a while now, so I'll lay it on the line with you.

First, do your research. I've never been one to candy coat anything for anyone. I tell it like it is.& So, go to Google, Yahoo, or your search engine of choice and search on any term(s) you can think of pertaining to this topic. There you will find plenty of companies and consultants that provide this service. This is where the fun begins.

Just like any other service provider you would seek out, you're not going to hire the first one you contact regardless of what they say or how good they seem, which is why I always tell people that contact our offices, "Call all the other guys first, THEN get back with me". This may seem pompous to some and maybe even stupid to others, but the reason I do this is because I know that, A.) I won't work with everyone, and B.) No one else in the market place offers what we do. There, I said it.

So, back to the question at hand: How to close a retail store. It all centers around a solid marketing system. Well, unless you are wanting to close your business because of old age, retirement, divorce, death in the family, or any other reason NOT related to poor sales and slumping economy, then you may not know exactly what a solid marketing system means, otherwise, you probably would not be wanting to know how to close a retail store in the first place. Make sense?

Any and all successful businesses revolve around one simple, yet complex, principle: solid marketing systems or what I like to call the Retail Marketing Triangle: Marketing, Merchandising, and Salesmanship, all of which play a very important role in a solid marketing system for retailers.

Here are some questions you need to ask yourself to get started:

1. What kind of relationship do I have with my existing customers?

2. Do I have the contact information of all my existing customers?

3. Have I been staying in touch with my existing customers with direct mail, email, and phone calls?

4. Is my inventory good? Is my store full? If so, of what?

5. Have my sales been declining? If so, why?

6. Am I always actively seeking new customers?

There are literally dozens of other prevalent questions, but these are some of the main ones that help you determine where to start. By the way, closing a business is NOT something you want to do yourself UNLESS you have a system to follow. I've written a book about it, but I'll provide a link for that at the end of the article. The book I wrote tells basically how we set up for and manage a successful retail liquidation Sale, beginning to end, and most times get a 90%-140% return on inventory cost for our clients. Does that happen every time? No.

Anyway, the reason you must ask yourself all these questions is that the answers will play an important role in how successful your Sale is. For example: if you have no customer database, then what we do is strategically build a database saturated for your close proximity area based upon who your ideal customer would be. Then we send out a very unique, custom sales letter about your store and your Sale, which is presented in an oversized invitation format. The key here is the copy of the sales letter. Writing copy is no easy task, but there are many books available on it should you be so inclined to write your own. The point: while this method will bring LOTS of people into your store to launch your Sale, if done properly, it will ALWAYS be better if you have an established list of regular customers to market to.

Next, your inventory. So many people contact me about doing a Sale for them, they send me pictures of their store, and the shelves and counters are half empty, and what they do have available is either old, outdated, or undesirable. I used to think this was common sense, but I've learned never to be surprised by things like this. Listen, if you want to close your business, if you want to do it profitably, then make sure you have a healthy, full inventory you'll make a whole lot more money. Oh, and be sure to hire a professional. Oh, and when you hire a professional, be sure to ask them details about their marketing systems. You'll be surprised at the different things you'll hear. Let me just put it this way: there's a lot of candy coating going on out there.

Now, you will have to make regular price reductions throughout the Sale, but you've got to be smart about it. Don't start too high (most people not in the know start too high including many professionals), but also be sure to not mark down too soon. That could cost you money.

There's so much more to tell, but I'll leave it at this: If you're going to be closing a retail store, then your Store Closing Sale must be well planned. If you already have a website, then be sure the company you use to help you actually builds or integrates a lead generation page or site for you to help you quickly establish a hyper-targeted list of customers that you can market to for free during your Sale, and secondly, make sure you have someone to help you that is truly qualified with a mind for CURRENT marketing methods.

You can't afford not to. Learn more about how to close a business here.

Got Clutter? Here's 9 Quick Tips to Put Order Into Your Life

Author: Stephanie McWilliams

Copyright (c) 2008 Stephanie McWilliams

It's likely that most of you are struggling, on some level or another, with sorting, clearing, cleaning and editing your belongings, and many more of you have read plenty of books about clearing the clutter, organizing your office and tossing your trash.

As a feng shui consultant, I've become hyper-aware of the effect of clutter on our emotional, spiritual and psychological lives. I've seen bright people's careers brought to a halt by clutter, talented folks stifled with sloppiness, and full-grown adults swallowed alive by stagnant knick-knacks and dusty bobbles.

If you have closets packed to the ceiling, cupboards that are bursting, or junk drawers that can't close, you're in very good company. But so often the process of clearing the clutter just feels far too daunting, and we simply look around not knowing where to begin.

So, grab the closest junk drawer, closet, cabinet or cupboard. Open it wide...and let's get to work!

1. START SMALL. Starting in a small area is far less overwhelming than taking on the process of clearing out your entire house. Thinking we have to tackle every hidden area can halt our progress before it has even begun. Pick one small area - I suggest your junk drawer for starters. Not only can you complete it quickly, but you'll instantly begin to reap the benefits of having at least one beautiful, uplifting place.

2. FINISH WHAT YOU START. Make sure to finish beautifying your junk drawer before moving on to something else. Many of us have a tendency to start sorting every space all at once. This can be daunting, and rarely is it possible to finish several spaces all in the span of a day. Also, if your tendency is to start too much at once, you may struggle with completing tasks in general. Use this exercise as a symbolic opportunity to release this pattern, and begin a new, more focused, habit.

3. CLEAN LIKE YOU'VE NEVER CLEANED BEFORE. Once you've dumped the junk drawer, clean it from top to bottom. Also clean every single item going back into the junk drawer. Get back inside the corners, the sides, the bottom. Clean it as if it were a sacred act that your life depended on. Be conscious, careful, considerate, as if the act of cleaning itself were a meditation. As a dear friend often tells me, "Clean as if God were coming!"

4. GIVE EVERYTHING A HOME. Disorganization usually stems from the fact that we've never organized our things in a way that made the most sense. When we find the proper containers, boxes or dividers for our things, then tend to stay there. So if your junk drawer is still a mess, perhaps you haven't quite structured things as well as you could. Are things situated conveniently? Have you thought your process through logically and systematically? Take a second look, grab a piece of paper. Brainstorm what needs to go there, how much can fit, and where it will go. Taking a few minutes (or hours) now can save you days in the long run.

5. KEEP THINGS YOU NEED. When sorting through any hidden space, really ask yourself "Do I need this?" If you do, then great! Keep it, and move on to the next object. You "need" your can opener. You "need" your scissors. You may not "need" an old bag of binder clips, 300 rubber bands or 4 old boxes of incense.

6. KEEP THINGS THAT LIGHT YOU UP. You can also keep things that make your heart soar. As my teacher said so cleverly to me last week, "Go through your home as if you were shopping there, and keep only the things you would buy again today". Only keep around things you would genuinely spend your hard-earned cash on today - those things that make you feel wonderful, that bring a smile to your face and a lightness in your chest.

7. ANAL RETENTIVE VS. CAREFUL. As you begin bringing care and intention into your home environment, make sure that you continue to keep tabs on your underlying motivations. Do you need everything to be perfect? Do you refuse to allow even one object to be left sitting out? Does everything always need to be in it's place? Watch this fine line between careful (full-of-care) and anal-retentive. Externally, they may appear identical, but they are radically different things inside. If you're inclined to be more controlling and perfectionistic, your homework this week will be to make a mess! That's right - you heard me. Lighten up! Have some fun... Any imbalance or extreme within us, no matter what type it is, needs to gently be brought back into balance.

8. HOARDING VS. STORING. When dealing with storage spaces, keep tabs of hoarding tendencies. Similar to #7 above, hoarding can often times be masked as "saving up for the future" and usually reflects deep and hidden fears. There's a big difference between storing a few extra items that are used up regularly, like toilet paper, water, printer paper or tea lights vs. chocking your home full of expired vitamin bottles, unread magazines, bags of itsy-bitsy hotel shampoos, Rice-a-Roni to last three decades, 87 tubes of lipstick (not one of them in a shade that you love), or your entire wardrobe dating back to the 70's. I think you get my drift...

9. THE 50-50 RULE. Keep your closets, cupboards and drawers half-full. That's right! Leave some empty space. The key to keeping things organized is to have enough space to comfortably get things in and out as needed. Most of us fill things all the way up to the tippy-top, taking us much longer to retrieve an item, and even longer to put things back in place afterward. Consider leaving breathing room in all your spaces so that you feel uplifted, airy and inspired every time you peer inside, saving you time and energy.

Try on these nine tips over the coming weeks, and see if it doesn't make a bright new difference in your home and outlook. Lightening your load (on every level) can breath a fresh breath of life into your health, wealth, love life and so very much more!

On-site and Off-site SEO

Author: Waheed Akhtar

This article is about basic phases of SEO (Search Engine Optimization). If you have developed or thinking to develop a website, you must keep these basics in your mind. I have tried to explain very simple way so you can easily implement it.

There are two Major phases of SEO.

1- On-site SEO

2- Off-site SEO

On-site SEO

On-site SEO includes all those steps, taken to optimize website for search engines. Means On-site SEO is optimization of your website so Search engines can access and cache it easily.

Now you might think what is Search Engine Cache?.

Every Search engine has made a program called Spider or Bot. This bot follows hyper links and whatever page comes in front, it store all the text of that page.

Now you will be clear, It means your website must have good textual content. Because search engine can't read Flash files and Images. They just follow their ATL or Object tags for graphics.

So make a good content by using best keywords.

Now here are the On-site SEO steps

  • Get Targeted Keywords and use them in the content. You can use Google Keyword Tool to get keywords synonym and their phrases.

  • Use keywords in you Heading H1, H2, H3 Tags

  • Write ALT attribute in your all image tags

  • Use your some keywords in Title, But it should not be long.

  • Make your Meta Tags of Keywords and Description, You can use any meta tag generator like http://www.addme.com/meta.htm

  • Use keywords in Menu links, footer links and content links. It will increase your keyword density.

  • After completing these step. Generate XML Sitemap of your website. You can use this application http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/ , However review your map and remove unnecessary links. Then upload it to your website e.g http://www.vidionline.com/sitemap.xml

  • Make your Robots.txt. e.g http://www.vidionline.com/robots.txt .You can search tools for that also.

hmmmm, Well I think its enough for the On-site SEO. However there can be secrets also. But these are some major steps.

Off-site SEO

Off-site SEO includes all those steps, taken to optimize the link popularity or website marketing.

What is link popularity?

Take example from real world. As many people know you, you become popular. If you are popular among good people then you become celebrity and if you are popular among bad people then you become notorious.

So when you are building links to your website, keep it in mind. Is that a good vote or bad vote?

After developing website, Make a good description of website and make special email account for submission. Don't use regular email, Otherwise you will get spam forever :)

Here are the main steps to submit

These search engine have more than 90% traffic and most of other search engines follow their links. You can try other search engines specially local search engines, Otherwise it is enough.

Now submit your website to web directories.

  • Directory Submission: Most of SEO experts or link builders will ask you to submit url to 100 web directories and perhaps your will get results temporarily, But this is not good tactic and you will see your website with un-targeted traffic. Google experts are not so silly that they can't differentiate good and bad links. I will recommend that Just take 20-30 good Pagerank web directories paid/free and submit your website there.

  • Social Book Marking: Personally, I think social book marking and social profiles are better technique than web directories submission. Because there website has already Good reputation to Search Engine. They just don't give you good Vote but can send a targeted traffic to you as well. You will find serious customers and visitors rather than web directories. Some examples are Delicious, Digg and Stumbleupon etc.

  • Social Website Profiles: Make your website profiles on websites like Facebook, Myspace, Twitter etc. These websites provide good traffic and searching results as well.

  • Press release/ Article Submission: If your website has some articles and news stuff then you should publish it on websites. These website spread or publish your articles and news to other website also. That makes your website more popular and generate traffic. For article listings try http://ezinearticles.com/and http://www.articlesbase.com/ etc. For Press releases try http://www.prlog.org/ and http://www.openpr.com/
