An Online Shopping Mall is your Key to Comfort

An online shopping mall will have the ability to keep your information private and secure. An online shopping mall is a convenient way to shop, which saves you time & money! A quality online mall has a network of stores, made up of top national merchants, for your convenience.Another advantage is the online shopping mall is open 24/7, every day of the year.

Customer
Furthermore, each shop can easily provide a customer with the latest goods in the shop by constantly updating the database linked to the home page. If a customer wants to buy apparel, the customer is more likely to buy the goods in an online shopping mall which allows a point-service. Recently, customers buy goods not only in shops but also through network services using telephones, personal computers, etc. If a customer clicks the mouse on the hyper link to his or her favorite shop, then the names of the goods and their images and prices of the shop are displayed on the screen. The goods are directly sent from the shop to the customer, and the customer makes a payment. The high tech internet has made online shopping a breeze for customers to shop at will, anytime they desire.

Shops

When goods in a plurality of shops are displayed on the screen, the shopping mall formed of such shops is referred to as an online shopping mall. However, the shops can also have their own servers, and can simultaneously enter another online shopping mall. Also remember to come back often to find new links, shops, online stores and more when a weekly update is done.

Electronic

A good online shopping mall just doesn t carry electronics, computers, books and music, though our shopping center also allows you to do comparison shopping for products and offers a large selection of unique gifts and products you simply won t find at other online malls. An online mall is a giant shopping mall with hundreds of stores and thousands of quality products for comparison. Shopping has never been so easy electronics, apparel, music, auto accessories, computers, shoes, jewelry, vitamins. Spend less time surfing and more time shopping online.

There are quite a few reasons to shop online, security being one of them. As a consumer, it is always nice to be provided with special incentives to keep the customer coming back. This would be no different than a retail store you walk into. A key ingredient for a great online shopping mall is site organization.

Social Capitalism - the Monetization of the Social Network

Read Original Article Here......A quick history review, if I can call it that, illustrates clearly how the internet has always been the efficiency hall monitor, policing all of the world’s market inefficiencies out of the global economic system one by one. Labor mobility for example was one of the first beneficiaries of Schumpeters Creative Destruction. Further along, sites like Amazon were able to bootstrap to a single niche “vertical” (books), then lateral into other verticals using their massive operating cash flows until now where they are selling almost every product conceivable.

The “mall” experience is now a family or social pastime, but the mall’s commercial relevance has for all intents faded. The reason can be found in the same books that got Amazon to the level of an 800-lb gorilla. Most books I buy “through” Amazon, of which I have probably bought over 2000 and counting, I usually buy from competing online merchants selling the same book at a fraction of Amazon’s price, or at a large enough discount to offset the free shipping offer from Amazon. The fact that it was Amazon that put this merchant’s product up for me to buy at a huge discount has earned my consistent loyalty, and this loyalty allows their network to grow.

This is why Amazon is perfectly content in allowing this to take place through their technology. Their revenue from order fulfillment allows them to also benefit from the wholesale liquidators that often dominate the book business. The core of their technology lies in their ability to recommend products to me that I would never have found or seen while visiting a book store, although visiting the local Barnes & Noble is still one of my favorite things to do. Furthermore, the fulfillment and logistics business allows Amazon to leverage its proprietary behavioral targeting technology. And how did Amazon do it? By discovering the value and defining the concept of behavioral targeting since their first “Amazon Recommends” technology was rolled out, followed by “One Click Ordering”.Web communities such as MySpace and Facebook (and dozens of others popping up everywhere) have brought like-minded people together all over the world into hyper niche verticals that continually optimize themselves through rapid evolution.

From the advertiser’s perspective, each new social networking platform becomes a doorway to whatever psychographic and/or demographic being served by that web site. All the old fuss about “monetizing the social network” is being addressed by technology to deliver contextual ads to site readers. The megapixels on each individual monitor become the billboard for advertisers looking at a very specific form of content, such as a news article, e-book or blog. Advertisers are salivating at the chance for precision guided targeting of the consumer, and although some privacy advocates are making noise, there is not going to be much in the way of behavioral targeting + contextual ads becoming Silicon Valley’s WMD in its attack on Madison Avenue. This new "socialization" of the web brings together multiple niche communities with similar interests. But even though I have a MySpace profile and spend time on the site, it does not necessarily mean that I also like the same things as one of my MySpace friends. “New” media marketing is all about serving highly relevant ads to every single user on the site.

Because it is now possible to serve different ads on the same ad spot at the exact same time, advertisers no longer monopolize a specific time zone or TV network. At any given time, if there are 100,000 unique visitors on a web site, and 10,000 of them are on the same page within that site, one could in theory serve 100,000 different ads from unique advertisers at the exact same time, all of them customized based on the users “web print”. Ipod for Audio Books

The iPod is a music and movies player, but people can listen to audiobooks and other spoken-work content, while commuting, jogging or exercising. Audiobooks are either complete or abridged recordings of books, which are read out loud and recorded. Sometimes the author himself reads the book, like Bill Clinton’s My Life, and the late Douglas Adams’s Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Others are read by famous actors, like John Lithgow’s reading of Michael Crichton’s Disclosure and Joe Mantegna’s readings of Robert B. Parker’s mysteries.

Usually, these are read by professional readers whose purpose is to make a book sound as compelling as it is on paper. After purchasing CD audiobooks, you can import them into iTunes and listen on your iPod like other digital audio. The Ipod audio books from the iTunes Music Store or Audible.com are created as one or two files lasting ten hours each, making them easier to listen and manage in your iTunes Library.

Buying audio books on-line

It is good to know your options as these can be expensive, costing more than paper books. Audible.com provides the same quality of audio book content that the iTunes Music Store sells, apart from Audible’s broader selection of non-book audio programs and its monthly subscription that includes either one book a month for $15 or any two Ipod audio books for $22 a month.

You can only buy individual titles from the iTunes Music Store. Fans of audiobooks will view this as a great deal; you spend more than that for most individual audiobooks on CD or from the iTunes Music Store. Yet, if you only want single audiobook without a monthly subscription, check both places: on some books, the iTunes Music Store is much cheaper than Audible.

You can rip audiobooks from CDs to use in iTunes and iPod. For maximum benefit, you have to choose a format for importing, join tracks on the CD, and make the files able to be bookmarked. When you sync audio books to your iPod, they appear in one of two places. If they are bookmarked, they appear in the Music > Audiobooks menu automatically, though they are not in that genre. They also show up by genre, artist or “song”. If they cannot be bookmarked, you will have to search for them from these latter menus.

You play Ipod audio books like other audio files, but bookmarked audio books give you an extra advantage. This is going to the iPod’s Settings menu and selecting Audio books which let you choose a different speed for the playback or change the speed of a droll or hyper reader: Faster or Slower. The played file’s speed changes, not the voice. The distortion noticed is not a problem.

This change can also be made as you’re listening to Ipod audio books. After they start playing, press the Select button thrice. Run your finger around the scroll wheel clockwise to make it ‘Faster’; scroll the other way to return to ‘Normal’, or to change it to ‘Slower’.About the Author:

Policosanol and Health

Policosanola, extracted from sugar cane and bee’s wax, is a high-potency form of sugar; it does not, however, affect blood sugar levels.

Policosanola, by slowing down the hepatic absorption of cholesterol, and increasing the degradation of LDL, both raises levels of “good” HDL cholesterols and lowers those of “bad” LDL Cholesterol.

Policosanola, when taken orally, treats hypercholesterolemia, or intermittent claudicating--the leg muscle cramping which occurs during exercise, and stops at the cessation of, exercise.

Policosanol improves strength, stamina, and speed of reactions; herpes infections, inflammatory skin diseases, and Parkinson’s disease.

It has been used to treat Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis--ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease--hyper lipidemia, and atherosclerosis. It might also slow down the build up of lipids, and increase the use of the fat, in fat tissues.

More Positive Effects of Policosanol

Various clinical trials have provided strong evidence that Policosanol can both lower bad Cholesterol (LDL) by up to 20%, and raise beneficial cholesterol (HDL) by 10% in an individual.

It does this by obstructing the synthesis of cholesterol from the liver. While most people think most cholesterol comes from the diet, we have found out that the liver which, in fact, produces more than 80% of the body’s cholesterol.

Policosanol also, by combating the formation of lesions in arterial walls, protects against heart disease, and, like aspirin acts as an anti-coagulant.

Anti-coagulants prevent the formation of blood clot, which can lead to heart attacks and strokes.

Things to Watch Out For

The nutrient Policosanol, as evidenced by its long history of clinical trials, seems to be a very safe supplement. The good new is that, while many people fear that the nutrient, because it is derived from sugar cane wax, may raise ones blood sugar levels, it does not.

While we have found no evidence of negative interactions when Policosanol is used in conjunction with prescription heart medications, we always suggest that you talk with your doctor before starting any new supplement program. If you are currently taking other drugs, we strongly advise you to do so.
There are no reports of anyone overdosing on policosanol. And although its mild side effects--stomach upset, skin rash, headache, insomnia, and weight loss--are extremely rare, some individuals are advised to take precautions in using it.

Policosanol should not be given to children, or pregnant or nursing women. Hemophiliacs and those taking Warfarin, because it may cause themto experience anti-thromboic activity, should check with their doctor before using it. For all individuals, it should be stopped before any surgical procedure.

Our Take on the Benefits of Policosanol

Policosanol may be an alternative to statin drugs, the side effects, including liver dysfunction and muscle atrophy, of which have been documented. And, because policosanol has been extensively researched—more so, in fact, than most prescription drugs, the evidence of its therapeutic benefits and efficacy is indisputable.

Gugulipid, a nutrient related to policosanol, has also been shown, in clinical trials, and, in India, from thousands of years of use, to both lower bad, and raise good, cholesterol; it is, in addition, one of the few substances capable of lowering triglyceride levels.

High triglyceride levels combined with high cholesterol levels increase the risk risk of heart disease exponentially. Policosanol and gugulipid, used together, make a potent and effective cocktail offering one the best possible therapeutic benefits. You need, if you’re interested in improving your health, these nutrients for the best possible results.

How to Select Policosanol Supplement

1. Many products on the market, while claiming to use “Policosanol” are actually using a nutrient called “Octacosanol.” There are, in addition, many nutritional products that contain Policosanol not from sugar cane wax, but a variety of lower quality, extracted from bee’s wax. Policosanol from bee’s wax is INCOMPLETE, and will NOT give the results outlined in the numerous clinical trials, which used only the best available policosanol extracted from sugar cane wax.

Companies, wanting produce supplements at a fraction of the cost use bee’s wax or Octacosanol because of their low cost, because of low quality ingredients, however, consumer suffers. We have found the price of genuine policosanol is twenty times greater than that of Octacosanol.
Yet companies using Octacosanol, even though clinical studies of the genuine substance that do not really apply to the products they are promoting, can quote their results, and, worst of all, they hope you never find out. Sadly, most consumers never do.

2. Always buy your nutritional supplements from pharmaceutical GMP compliant facilities, which comply with the strictest manufacturing standards. Because nutritional supplements production, in the U.S., has become largely unregulated, consumers of health products have only a 20% chance of buying products containing the actual ingredients stated on their labels or worse yet, one that is not contaminated with harmful toxins.

3. Be sure the product does not contain any fillers or additives (examples include: sugar, starch, gluten, silica (sand!) or any artificial colors or flavors of any kind.

The product we personally use called Total Balance, which contains Policosanol - http://www.natural-nutritional-health-supplement.com is the best supplement we have come across. We have been using this supplement for over 3 years with excellent health results

We highly recommend you learn more about our best natural nutritional supplement if you are interested in improving your overall health

How to Get Other Websites to Link to Yours

The use of back-links to improve a websites Search Engine Rank Position (SERP) in search engines (SE) has been very effective in diffusing some level of black-hat search engine optimization (SEO). Black-hat SEO involves using "illegal" techniques with the express purpose of fooling SEs to rank a website favorably. Back-links on the other hand are hyper-text links from other websites that link and direct their visitors to your website. They are also referred to as incoming links.

An everlasting question on an internet marketers mind is how they could get other websites to link back to their website. The more the number of links, the higher the website's Page Rank (PR) and most likely the better the SERP. The better the SERP the more visitors the website attracts, and the more the visitors the more sales the site can make.

One such technique is article marketing. It is so called as it uses reprintable articles to market your website. The driving force of the internet as a whole is information often referred to as content. Consequently, SEs love content, more so new, unique and/or frequent content. Article marketing targets to satisfy this insatiable need of SEs and webmasters.

An article is a literary composition on a distinct and independent subject such as the one you are reading. This is as opposed to series, book, or other such literary works. The idea in article marketing is to compose on a subject related to your website. For example for a tours and travel website one could compose an article about giving tips on dealing with jetlag or choosing a family safari. Ideally, the article should be more than 500 words but less than 1500. You then make the article available for reprint by any other webmaster. They can choose to use it on their websites, blogs or publish it on their newsletters.

The trick behind getting a link back to your website from the websites' whose owners choose to use the article is in the resource box. A resource boxes is a widely acceptable format of including hyper-linked text at the end of your article with a little marketing message. It is usually a sentence or two. In here you should add a link pointing to your website. As reprint content, an interested webmaster is only allowed to use the content as is - they can neither change the content nor the resource box.

Each website that uses your article automatically gives you a back-link. Highly informative content tends to attract wider publishing by other webmasters.

Top Ten Ways to Increase Web Sales - Part 1

You have only 10 seconds to impress your potential buyer.

Your Web site visitors don't care about you. They care what you can do for them. Give them a reason to buy. If you haven't reaped the sales you deserve apply these ten tips:

1. Write dazzling home-page copy that gives your potential customers a reason to click to your product or service sales letter.

Use hyper-linked benefit driven headlines that lead visitors straight through to a sales letter that includes bulleted benefits of your service or product. "Before I learned this ultimate power technique, my Web sales were flat."

2. Preplan and know your Web site's purpose and audience before you contact a Web Master.

Without knowing your site's clear purpose, your headlines and copy for each product or service will lack clicking power. If your visitors don't get a chance to know why they should use you or your product, they will be confused and leave your Web site.

Before you write much copy, make a list of your benefits and features. Your visitors want to know what their outcomes are for reading your book. Benefits sell. Use this list to create an order-pulling sales letter and headlines.

You must also know your audience before you write a word of Web copy. To preplan your Web site, write out an audience profile. Think of income, age, sex, Internet savvy, how they spend discretionary money.

Make another list of your audience's resistances. Later apply to your sales letter where you put them up, then answer them. If you offer a book, make sure you compel your visitor to go to your sales and order page. Always make it easy for them to buy.

Maybe you are like me, when you visit other professional sites; you often leave wondering what are they selling? What do they want the visitor to do?

3. Sell your products and services through brave, bold, headings.

Headings can ask a pertinent question about you visitors challenges, such as "Are your web sales puny?" Or, "Are you frustrated not being in the career you love? Headings can use a benefit statement such as Quadruple your Success (you name what it is) with one feature it works with, such as the Online Promotion Tool Kit (name your product or service).

4. Use sparkling testimonials from the rich and famous on your home page and all other pages about each product or service you offer.

Place your best testimonial with at least three benefits in it near the top of your home page. Rather than put all testimonials on just one page, sprinkle them generously throughout your site.

An excellent testimonial can become the hyperlink that sends your visitor to your sales message. Even on your order page, include a testimonial at the top of your listing.

One link from a famous coach said, "Save yourself from headaches, disappointments and money down the drain. Read this short eBook on book writing and publishing before you write another word!"

You may already have testimonials on your Web site for your product and service, but do you have them for your ezine, fre.e articles, and teleclasses?

5. Support your home page "Passion Approach" copy with proper links to product sales letters, stories, and service.

Let's say you have a bold heading "Quadruple your Web sales in Four Months with Opt-In Ezine Articles." You can make the whole phrase a hyperlink that with one touch, will lead your visitors where you want them to go--To your sales letter, of course!

Remember your home page must give your visitors a reason to buy. Use these "Marketing Pizzazz" techniques throughout your site. Think right now, what is it I need to act on next to manifest more dollar success on my site?

1. Daily goals...

You need to set performance goals for yourself daily. This REALLY stops you from procrastinating because you are never looking too far ahead. Except when next week comes around, some more stuff comes up! Keep daily goals for yourself, and be sure to accomplish them all.

2. Night Before...

Set your daily goals the night before. I find that most of us lack clarity in the mornings. Most of us have "mind fog".

Setting them the night before will allow you to have a clear outlook on the day ahead. Your goals will be a lot more realistic, less rushed, and concise.

Ebook Etiquette - Ultra Long Sales Brochures Are Not E-Books

We are starting to see a little bit of abuse in the Ebook sector online. Many websites are offering free-Ebooks to those who visit their websites and allowing free-downloads. Well, free is a good price of course and yet, too often that is all it is worth. I have noticed this happening more and more, which is very nice of the website owner, consultant or expert which owns the website. It's nice to see people giving their knowledge back to the world.

E-books can be a great way to establish someone's credibility, but far too many websites now offer such eBooks to their visitors that are nothing more than glorified ultra-long sales brochures, they are not e-books? Oh sure they are set up and formatted like an eBook and they are easily downloadable in a .pdf format, but they are merely a very long sales letter.

The best advice for these Internet scammers or online marketers who do not know any better and use this technique to hyper sell Internet visitors is to consider what people really think of you after they have been tricked into thinking you are actually giving them something of value, when in reality you are giving them nothing more than a colorful extended sales pitch.

E-books are exactly that, they are electronic books. E-books are not long sales letters or brochures. E-Brochures are electronic brochures and long sales letters online are e-sales letters, not ebooks. If you are going to steer people to such things, then why not label them what they are instead of fraudulently tricking them into clicking on something that is not what they expected. Please consider this.

Set Goals For Work - How to Set Goals For Your Job

Are you looking for an efficient method to set goals for work? If you are, then you are definitely in the right place! Now, I am AWESOME at setting goals, but I will tell you right now that a job is not my area of expertise. I am my own boss and I own my own business. Part of which was a direct result of my awesome goal setting :-) In other words, I am fairly confident my goal setting strategies work! Read on!

Set Goals for Work

1. Into the Fire...

The first thing you need to do is be aware that you need to step out of your comfort zone. No one has ever accomplished anything of significant value without stepping outside of their comfort zones. Why would you be any different?!

If you are ready to give yourself a real challenge, and achieve something of phenomenal value, go on to the next step.

2. What do you really want?...

Do you like your job? You better.

If you do not, you are going to have a heck of a time accomplishing anything in that situation. You really need to be enjoying your work in order to excel at it. If you don't (as is the case with many I work with) you should honestly think about shaking things up.

But let's say you LOVE your job. Here is what you need to do when setting a goal for it.

Turn off your logical mind. Don't worry about how you will achieve that goal. Just be sure this goal is something you REALLY want to achieve! If you don't think earning an extra ten grand a year will allow you to live the life you desire, do not make that goal.

If you honestly believe you need thirty thousand dollars of extra income, go with it!

This is how you set goals for your job. Challenge yourself and make sure it is something you really want. Now you just need to act!

And One Last Thing..

Do you REALLY want to amp up your goals and ACHIEVE them in far less time?

Surviving All Those Perfect Storm Cliches With Precious Metals

The perfect storm this. The perfect storm that.

The cliché is getting tossed around about as much as those old-time favorites, "uphill struggle," "right on the money," "you can run but you can't hide," "at the end of the day" and "there's a quarterback controversy on this team."

Even so, feel free to drag it out one more time, shine it up and reapply it to the economy. Everybody else is doing it. The title of Sebastian Junger's bestseller is how an awful lot of people are now describing what we face.

Hit by One Perfect Storm (or Another)

In his book, The Perfect Storm, Junger writes of a hurricane crashing into a Canadian low pressure center which then does a head-on with a cold front hanging off the New England coast. The result is a hundred year storm generating 120 mile-an-hour winds, 100-foot waves and several fatalities.

That said, there seems to be a bit of confusion over exactly what constitutes a perfect economic storm.

"The combination of soaring demand from 3 billion new players on the world stage, record-high oil prices and a plunging U.S. dollar has never happened before and is more than throwing kerosene on a fire: It's like setting off a nuclear bomb on top of another nuclear bomb," wrote analyst Larry Edelson.

That's one perfect storm. Martin Weiss of the Money and Markets newsletter sees another. In his scenario, "close encounters with a Wall Street meltdown" collide with a severe U.S. recession, which smashes into surging inflation.

Like a Disaster Movie Marathon

We're just warming up. This is the perfect storm-a literal storm like in Junger's book-that Larry Elliot of The Guardian envisions:

"In October 2008, George Bush finally loses patience with Tehran and, in the last big decision of his presidency, launches air strikes against Iran's nuclear capability. On the same day, just as the citizens of Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas think they have seen the last of one of the stormiest summers on record, a category-five hurricane sweeps across the Gulf of Mexico and shuts down half of America's oil-refining capacity. The combination of military action in the Middle East and natural disaster sends the price of oil shooting up to $150 a barrel, pushing up inflation in all western economies. Central banks, fearful of another 1970s-style surge in the cost of living, raise interest rates, intensifying the effects of the economic downturn. Financial markets suffer a spasm of selling. Banks stop lending and, as businesses fail in droves, [there's] a meltdown in the housing market."

On and on it goes. Julie Chen of the CBS Early Show likes her perfect storm served up with higher gas prices, a crisis in the housing market and "the devastating floods in the Midwest." Glenn Beck, who's fond of saying that he has the number three talk radio show in the nation, may use the cliché more than any other living soul today. Then there's the Website, marketoracle.co.uk. It refers to the mess as a "perfect hyper-stagflationary storm." No, that's not nearly as slick a term.

Meanwhile, standing like a cheerleader in a bomb crater, the Paris-based Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development advises us that, much to our relief, we've survived a "near-perfect storm" in the financial markets remarkably well and, come next year, we'll all be on the road to recovery and, presumably, live happily ever after.

Still haven't gotten enough perfect storm analogies? No worries. There are over 3 million more "perfect storm" search pages on Google.

The Golden Cliché You Can Turn To

It's at least apparent that a large number of learned folks believe something of significance- something of negative significance unfortunately-is about to happen in our economic lives. Whatever form that actually takes, be it recession, depression or "hyper-stagflation," the common themes here seem to be soaring oil prices, runaway inflation, surging world demand for commodities, a sinking dollar, the credit crunch and a global recession.

And maybe another war or weather disaster thrown in.

Interestingly, it's also starting to be a cliché to say that gold is an antidote for much of the above.

But that's only because gold keeps demonstrating that it actually is an antidote for much of the above. Since the start of 2007, gold is up an impressive 46 percent in anticipation of this perfect storm business. Predictions of gold continuing to thrive in today's nasty environment and reaching $1,500, $2,000 and higher abound (the Google search, "$2,000 gold," fetches 2.7 million pages). Marketoracle.com believes gold will "start its run north to the $1,500 -- $2,000 range before the year is up."

Not surprisingly, commodities are king when both inflation and uncertainty are out of control. They were king in 1980 and are today as well. People understandably prefer commodities-investments they can actually hold in their hands-when their traditional paper assets lose value almost by the week...yet another reason why the gold forecast remains so shiny.

So the next time you wince at a perfect storm cliché, use it as motivation to acquire more gold. Not only will that help you safeguard your own finances during these extraordinary times, you'll actually be putting a cliché to good use.

You've seen him on Fox News Television and heard him on the Rush Limbaugh Show. He's a published author, writer and an expert guest on more than 1000 radio programs discussing today's economy and gold

Positively ADD

ADD affects roughly about 4 to 6 percent of the whole U.S. population.

What’s interesting is the fact that the minor percentage of population actually affected by this disability includes some of the most successful inventors, pioneers, self-made billionaires, rock stars and innovators. How could that be? What makes someone positively ADD?

Well ADD and ADHD is a symptom of a brain with a different relationship to dopamine. The ADD and ADHD brain has a greater urge for stimulation just to feel awake and alive. Hence one feels the need to seek more thrills and will take bigger risks just to get those thrills. One particular thrill many people who are positively ADD seek is the thrill of accomplishment. Seeking this thrill of accomplishment drives people who are positively ADD or ADHD to discover brilliant new and different ways of doing things.

Some of the world’s most successful people are (or were) positively ADD, including: Leonardo da Vinci, Albert Einstein, John Lennon, John F. Kennedy, Bono, Mick Jagger, Winston Churchill, Martin Luther King Jr. and Bill Clinton, are all positively ADD or ADHD. But all of them managed to focus their ADD or ADHD drive for stimulation positively and thus successfully attained great success fame and fortune.

Rather than trying to be “normal” and suppress your ADHD traits, more emphasis should be given on how to harness positively ADD traits. If you’ve got ADD or ADHD, you don't need to learn how to sit still and focus on details, you need to learn how to evoke your hyper-focus, which is a natural aspect of ADD.

The key to focus for someone who is positively ADD or ADHD is passion. When something is truly interesting and "on purpose" for someone with ADD or ADHD, it evokes their passion which in turn triggers the legendary ADD hyper-focus.

Hyper-focus is more powerful than regular focus. It's about 5 times as intense. It allows one to solve difficult problems easily and it maximizes the energy available for the task at hand.

To learn more about how to cultivate and harness the power of hyper-focus, read "The Power of Hyper-focus" in the groundbreaking new book The DaVinci Method. Are you or someone you love Positively ADD? Get your copy of The DaVinci Method and learn how to harness that gift!

Important Information on ADHD

ADHD stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. This is a rather common disease that causes people to be over hyper and get easily distracted.

In order to make a diagnosis of ADHD you must go to a trained doctor who is aware of how to detect it. A lot of the symptoms that people get with ADHD are parts of other diseases and disorders.

Some people believe that ADHD is more of a problem with the mind that you just have to learn to get over. While there is usually mental issues that go along with having ADHD it isn’t a disease you can just decide to get over one day.

Some common symptoms of ADHD include:

Memory loss and forgetting where you put something or what exactly a page in a book said. This hurts school kids a lot when they forget what they studied for a test.
Being very hyper and not being able to sit still or be quiet.
Not listening to a speaker or ignoring someone when they are trying to talk with you.

One cure to ADHD is to be on a good diet. Being in shape and healthy will help keep you from being effected as much by ADHD and can help prevent it before it starts. There are also a lot of various drugs that can be taken that are made specifically to treat ADHD patients.

Another interesting cure is one on one coaching. Someone will help talk the patient through their life and help them overcome the obstacles that the ADHD throws in their way.

If you know someone who has ADHD recommend that they get it treated as soon as possible. While the disease usually doesn’t kill people it can greatly disrupt normal living and make life miserable for the person with ADHD.

Writing – How to Create Cross References in FrameMaker?

FrameMaker has a very powerful cross referencing (linking) functionality. You can easily refer to another section or element in your book by a hyper-link that will be alive when you save your document as a PDF file.

The linked cross references are updated automatically when you edit your document or book and select Edit > Update References.

Here is how you can create FrameMaker cross references easily:

Enter your cursor to where you want your cross reference to be.

Then select Special > Cross Reference (or use the very useful Esc+S+C hotkey shortcut).

In the Cross-Reference dialog box, make sure PARAGRAPH is selected for Source Type.

Select a PARAGRAPH STYLE in the PARAGRAPH TAG window. All text for the document (the NAME of which is displayed in the DOCUMENT field on top) tagged with that paragraph style will be listed in the PARAGRAPHS text box on the right.

Select the text on the right window TO WHICH you’d like to create a cross reference from your cursor position.

Then select a REFERENCE FORMAT from the drop-down list at the bottom.

Click the INSERT button and you are done. The cross reference is inserted to where your cursor is.

Now you have an accurate and great looking cross reference which will be updated every time you edit your chapter or book.

How to Avoid Overuse of the Achilles Tendon in Sports and Ballet

Tendinitis is all too-prevalent in dance injuries and sports injuries. In fact, when someone says "I have tendinitis" it usually refers to the Achilles tendon, without being explained, it is that common. Inflammation, or "itis" can occur in any area of the body.

The Achilles tendon comes from the lower end of the calf muscles, and inserts, or is attached, to the heel bone. The calf muscles above, and the intrinsic foot muscles below, are supposed to do all the actual work in moving the foot flexed, or extended (pointed, in ballet).

If the foot can flex and stretch without changing its angle (curving outward, or sickling out in ballet, or curving inward, sickling in or 'pigeon toes'), in most cases the tendon will not get irritated.

This is presuming that when you are standing on an even surface, the foot is not sloping inward, what people think of as "fallen arches", or is not sloping outward toward the little toe edge of the foot.

Runners and other athletes often work on uneven surfaces and depend on both strength and supportive shoes to minimize the variation in foot angle as it strikes the ground or pushes off. Ballet dancers absolutely depend on foot strength to prevent misuse, as they do not generally wear supports in their ballet shoes and pointe shoes. If needed, however, orthotics, or foot levelers, can be worn in dance shoes.

If a dancer or athlete has bowed legs, or hyper-extended legs, there will be an angle created just to have the feet flat on the floor. If this situation is understood, the student can be taught how to avoid inflammation of the Achilles tendon through understanding, and correction of, or accurate compensation for, this particular anatomical detail.

Correcting the stance of hyper-extended legs by stacking the skeletal joints (ankles, knees, hips and on up) and holding turnout, will correct the natural pronation (fallen arches) of the feet on the floor. Sometimes this is not even visible to a glance in dancers, due to a strong built-up muscle structure that is deceptive. Even chiropractors and physio therapists have to test dancers' muscles extensively, in order not to miss this observation, until they gain experience with it.

As more and more athletes are studying ballet principles of turnout and footwork to gain an extra advantage in their performance, and prevent sports injuries, hopefully the area of hyper-extension will also be addressed.

Bowed legs require an angle of the foot, for it to be flat on the floor. In ballet, correct use of turnout, developing the intrinsic foot muscles, and always having the body weight placed correctly on the feet (hyper-extension and bowed legs tend to throw the weight back) minimizes the overuse and irritation of the Achilles tendon.

Both ballet dancers and athletes need the understanding that poorly developed foot muscles lead to exhausting the calf muscles. This in turn creates tension, loss of muscle tone and strength, and the Achilles tendon develops tendinitis.

Once inflammation has set in, rest, and icing must be applied. A courageous patience is needed in recovery, as the pressure to stay in the daily competitive drive for a an upcoming exam, performance or team try-out, must be resisted. You long term persistence in your chosen field depends on avoiding a chronic situation.

Ballet, dance, and sports injuries can be prevented. If you are a pre-pro, a would-be ballerina, a dedicated recreational dancer or athlete, study all you can about how to avoid overuse and injury of your Achilles tendon.

Hypergeometric Distributions with Microsoft Excel

Excel provides a sometimes useful statistical function for making hyper geometric distribution calculations. (Note: People sometimes call the distribution "hypergeometric" [one word] rather than a "hyper geometric" [two words].)

Background information on Hyper Geometric Distributions

The hyper geometric probability distribution is much like the binomial probability distribution. The hyper geometric distribution describes the outcome of a multi-step experiment, consisting of n trials, where each trial ends in either a success or a failure.

But unlike the binomial distribution, the trials are not independent-so success in one trial affects the probability of success in another trial and the probability of success changes from trial to trial.

Arguments for the Hyper Geometric Distribution Function

The HYPGEOMDIST is therefore used when samples are taken from a finite population but not
replaced for the next trial. The HYPGEOMDIST function uses the following syntax:

=HYPGEOMDIST(successes_in_sample,sample_size,number_of_successes,population)

Example of a Hyper Geometric Distribution Function

For example, suppose a shipment of 10 items has 2 defective items and 8 non-defective items.
If you randomly select and test the individual units and set aside the units you've tested, the
probability of finding a defective unit changes depending on what's left in the shipment.

Suppose that you must reject a shipment if you find a single defective unit. If you sample 3
items, what's the probability that the shipment will be accepted? To find out, you can call finding
a defective item a "success," and enter the HYPGEOMDIST function to look like this:

=HYPGEOMDIST(0,3,2,10)

Understanding Hyper Geometric Distribution Function Results

This means 0 "successes" in 3 trials when there are 2 "successes" in the population of 10. The
function returns the value 0.4667.

The probability of rejecting the shipment is 1-0.4667, or 0.5333. To verify this, you can add
the probability of getting 1 success with the probability of having 2 successes.

Totally Bogus Men II - Social Guide for Younger American Women

Totally Bogus Men II, Social Guide for Younger American Women, offers hope through humor,
in weeding out the hyper-paranoid, overly-jealous, controlling, low self esteem bad boy who
is quicker to run to his "momma" than take time for listening, understanding, and offering
a spirit of humility. TBM II offers women a real chance to laugh at past mistakes in dating bogus men, and opens the way for new growth and love.

TBMII, sequel to the first "Totally Bogus Men, A Social Guide for the American Woman",
explores the fascinating world of loser male behavior, such as the infamous backwards baseball
cap syndrome, the bee-bop hippy hopp boy with so many gold chains, earrings, and overly
generous display of male underpants. What has happened to the mature, responsible, and
devoted American male? Has he evolved from potential prince and frog into the most amazingly stupid, huge pickup truck, bad boy, or in many cases, "momma's boy" tadpole?

TBM II explores this most curious shift in American male behavior, where the cell phone now becomes the umbilical cord to his MOMMA, helping him decide what to wear, how to act on a date, or even when he gets lonely and confused. Offering women a chance to reflect on their own experience, TBM II provides the Quickie Quiz, a Bogus Man flow chart, and even the "BM" catalog of imaginary, yet hilarious if true, products virtually any single woman would enjoy.

What makes this book so unique is that it is written by MEN, which automatically takes away the
attempt at any "male bashing" judgment. Bunce has impressive Navy background and business
experience, while Lolas continues with a distinguished Air Force fighter pilot, not to mention,
Presidential missions, career, along with all sorts of graduate degrees.

Together, they help bridge relief to any woman who may have attended one too many women's support groups, thinking she has to feel guilty of her past, or perhaps even worse, trying to "change" men in her future. Bunce and Lolas explain its simply a matter of clearing out immature, insecure male baggage and focus on the types of men that would make your own mother proud.

Bunce and Lolas are the Officer and Gentlemen of 2008!

Highly recommended reading for any woman today. You can find it at link-us1.com

5 Effective Strategies For Helping a Hyperactive Child

Helping a hyperactive child, rather than hoping that he will grow out of it is a smart strategy for caring parents. Although being around a child who is hyperactive may get tiresome for parents, obviously, this disorder creates great emotional pain and suffering for the child. The child wants to be able to calm himself, but for whatever reason, he cannot. In this article, you'll learn 5 proactive strategies to progressively help your child achieve a calmer, more alert state of mind.

Help for the Hyperactive Child

The strategies given below have proven effective. Although following one step can make a small difference in your child's behavior, following all of them has a cumulative effect which can make a big difference in your child's life (and yours as well).

  • Feed your child a nutritional diet made up of fresh produce, healthy fats and lean protein. It's a fact that sugar elevates blood sugar which can make kids hyper and greatly exacerbate the symptoms of a hyperactive child, so stay away from sugar and the processed foods that are made from it.
  • Supplement your child's diet with a natural supplement that is FDA-approved. Many parents are discovering that help for the hyperactive child means giving their children natural remedies that heal the brain so it can begin to unction optimally.
Obviously, a hyperactive state is not optimal, but when the brain gets the nutrition it needs (which is can't always get from food), it is able to create a balanced mood and a calm, yet alert state of awareness. This a great help for the hyperactive child because the more your child experiences what it feels like to be calm and relaxed, the more the brain trains itself to produce this state. As neuroscientists are fond of saying, "What fires together, wires together."
  • Limit your child's exposure to t.v. Television is designed to keep us in a trance with quickly changing images that capture our attention. For kids, obsessive t.v. watching can make real life seem boring in comparison. In this way, kids become addicted to the need for constant stimulation which does not help the hyperactive child. Cut down on t.v. slowly over time and engage your child in other activities.
  • Limit the amount of time you allow your child to play video games. Most video games are violent and like t.v., overstimulate your child with quickly changing images. Plus they reward your child for virtual acts of violence. This can be dangerous to a developing brain because again, overstimulation reinforces the need for constant stimulation.
When you realize that in some countries in the world, teens and young adults are being treated for video game addiction, you realize how serious this can be. Substitute video game play for time spent reading, walking the dog and other relaxed activities to give the brain a sense of balance and relief. Again, you will have to cut down on your child's video game play slowly over time.
  • Get outside and play. Exposure to the natural world will calm and soothe your child by helping a hyperactive child remember what it feels like to "just be." rather than to be constantly agitated. Physical activity will refresh your child and create a sense of balance and a relaxed state of mind.

Help for the hyperactive child requires minimizing exposure to t.v and video games, encouraging physical play and providing a nutrient-rich diet supplemented by natural remedies that restore balance to the brain, allowing it to function as it should. If you, like a growing number of parents around the world, can make a few changes in your child's lifestyle, you will find that your child's ability to stay calm, alert and focused improves greatly, making it possible from him to enjoy a normal childhood.

Although these steps for helping a hyperactive child may seem simple at first, together they have a profound effect which can greatly improve your child's quality of life.

Print on Demand (POD) - Saving the Publishing Industry From Itself

The book publishing industry is in trouble, plain and simple. It is an antiquated business that is does things basically the same way it did a century ago. It's a dying industry that has held fast to its old ways. In the business environment of the twenty-first century, you have to be fast, and you have to be efficient. Publishing is neither.

However, there is hope for this beleaguered industry, and its' name is "Print on Demand," also known as "POD."

Print on demand is a process in which books are printed on an individual basis as orders come in, rather than printing in bulk all at once. In other words, if one person orders a single copy of a book, a POD company would print and bind a single copy of the book for shipment to that one person.

There are many benefits to using a print on demand company for publishing, including:

1. Compared to the cost of configuring and printing a large number of books at once, the cost to set up a book for individual printing through a POD company is very small.

2. The ongoing economics work much more in your favor. Smaller quantity book orders, even down to a quantity of one, equal one printing. You don't have to worry about having hundreds or thousands of books lying around collecting dust in a warehouse. Books lying around cost money.

3. Print on demand offers great flexibility to publishers. POD is a unique business model that allows publishers to explore new revenue streams, reduce costs, increase market exposure and never miss a sale.

Print on demand is still young, and there are still technological innovations to come that will make it even more attractive. Print on demand is such that the quality of the books is very much equal to books manufactured using traditional offset methods. And with print on demand, publishers are not even bound by the format of the product. Books can be printed in large print, in foreign languages, or just about any configuration you can imagine. They can even be made into digital format, which gives publishers yet another way to offer their books to the public. Giving more options to consumers and more flexibility to publishers is a winning situation for everyone involved.

An up and coming variation of print on demand may involve machines installed in bookstores that allow them to print basically any book the customer wants. This will remove the limitation on the number of books that a bookstore can offer because of space limitations. While this technology is still in development for mass production, it is going to cause sweeping changes to the business of selling books in just a few years.

In the hyper competitive 21st century business environment, doing more with less is more important than ever. Print on demand lets you do just that. It is an immensely efficient way of doing business that levels the playing field for all sizes of publishers, giving all the chance to compete in the publishing arena.

Lightning Source is the leading company in the print on demand industry. The company helps publishers keep their costs down, while also giving them the opportunity to receive national distribution in major bookstores. To read a personal message from Lightning Source's Chairman, John Ingram, visit http://www.lightningsource.com/podnow.aspx

Rare Copywriting Bullet Point Secret All But Forces People To Buy From Your Ads

One of the most powerful bullet point tactics I ever learned was from a master copywriter (who has controls with many of the biggest mailing houses in the world) named David Deutsch.

And what he said was, when you are writing bullets for books and information products you should structure them in a way where you are very specific about the problem...but purposely vague with the solution.

He actually compared it to baiting a hook.

Where you bait the hook 9/10 of the way, with that small little piece of information (without which renders the secret you are writing about impossible to understand) purposely left off.

For example:

Let's say you are writing an ad for a book about how to train dogs.

And let's say you wanted to make a bullet point out of a fact in the book that says you can calm down hyper dogs by playing classical music.

In this case, you can say:

  • The one kind of music that’ll calm your dog down and help him go to sleep at night...no matter how strung-out, hyper or scared he is.

See what I mean?

5 Rules to Effective Street Combat

Rule number 1: There are no rules!
There are no rules! In the street when faced with an attacker who has already made the decision to hurt or kill you there are no rules. These people are breaking the law and doing so with forethought. They will stop at nothing to accomplish their set task. You have to make the decision to throw the rule book out the window. Remember, you are dealing with the unknown. The attacker or attackers may be carrying weapons or have friends waiting to assist. Maybe they want to hurt or kill you. Maybe they want to hurt or kill your family. The rules are gone; and don't worry about the law. "You were in fear for your life and the life of those around you." No judge in their right mind would jail you for that.

Rule number 2: Expect to get, hurt cut or shot!

Expect the worst. When you are in the heat of combat expect to get hit, cut or shot. This thought process is necessary in order to set fear aside and bypass the shock effect of when you actually do encounter the damage and you will take some damage. This is the mind frame that soldiers, mercenaries and professional fighters have adopted since the beginning of time. I used to carry a note to loved ones that was handed to my closest team mates when I was in combat in the Special Forces. After the operations they would give the envelope back to me. I made mental preparations for the worst and embraced the possibility that I may not return. This allowed me to transcend myself to a higher level of operation and not be concerned with the mortality issue of war. Although the average Joe or Jane may not need to go to the extreme of writing a death letter, they should definitely prep for the worst. Preparing for the worst can also aid in lessening the shock of being struck, stabbed or shot. Shock can completely shut someone down physically and mentally. Often times in combat it is shock that kills.

Rule number 3: Everything is a weapon!
Weather you are on the beach and throw sand, beat the attacker with a rolled up magazine or simply bite and spit; anything can be used as a weapon to help you gain operational momentum. One of my favorite movies is the Bourne trilogy based on the Robert Ludlum novels. The hero Jason Bourne is a CIA top spy and is highly trained to adapt to his environment using everything from letter openers to a rolled up newspaper for a weapon. You don't have to be an intelligence operative to know how to pick up anything and use it as a weapon. Whenever you are sitting around with nothing to do grab the nearest item and begin to practice using it as a weapon. If you are a martial arts or self protection instructor center an entire class on expedient weaponry. You'll be amazed at what you might come up with.

Rule number 4: Growl, snarl and bite!
It is proven that in a street confrontation that audibles can aid in fostering self doubt and fear in your attacker, by subconsciously creating a more dangerous picture of yourself. Audibles can also aid in creating what is known as the affect of sensory overload. Sensory overload concentrates on overloading your enemies senses by attacking physically, visually, mentally and audibly. Sensory overload can aid in putting your adversary in a hyper suggestive state of shock. Coincidentally this is the same state one undergoes in hypnosis. You want to create the mental image that you are more than human and an uncontrollable wild force.

Rule number 5: Don't think just do!
Stop thinking and be more spontaneous. If you see that a hostile situation is imminent; get out or lash out. Don't take the time to figure out which one of O' Sensei's magical techniques you will use. Just go with the flow. Fighting is not pretty and technique does not always apply. Don't forget Techniques are like opinions, everybody has one; they all stink and some smell worse than others.

In the end its on you
When it all comes down to it you can try to train and prepare yourself for anything. ultimately it is up to you. Will you be a sheep or will you become a wolf? It takes a wolf to kill one, and sometimes it takes a wolf to protect the sheep. You may have to revert to something very brutal and primitive to protect your life or the life of those you love. In the end do what you can live with.

The History of Coke-a-Cola - An American Tradition Considered

The United States has exported our brands throughout the World and has become a master in doing so, one of those great brands in Coke. The history of Coke-a-Cola could fill volumes, and you only need to read a decade or so of its history to understand why it is the leader in all the World.

If you would like to learn more about this great American Company, then I would sure like to recommend a book to you. It is a book that I own as well in my personal business library:

"The Real Coke, The Real Story" by Thomas Oliver - 1986.

Coke-a-Cola as you probably realize use to contain cocaine and well they do not make that kind of coke anymore. This book explains how it all began and how the company expanded in Atlanta and world-wide. It also addresses all the challenges along the way, how they built a hyper brand and how the modern slogans became the new coke brand.

How did Coke beat out the competition, Pepsi, the real story is very interesting and the book ends with how the future of coke is still a traditional legend and how it is growing in large countries like China and India. Of course, you must realize that this book was written in 1986 and Coke has come a long way since then and experienced a lot of Global Competition as well.

The superstar Roberto G. Goizueta is mentioned through-out the book; "I want the World to buy a coke!" Sub brands like Tab, Sprite, Minute Maid are discussed as well as failures, which the World has long forgotten. Again, I recommend this book to you.

It's a Dog's Diet? The Do's and Don'ts of Keeping Your Pet Healthy

Regardless of the breed of dog you have, and no matter whether you're feeding him off a regular dog bowl or an elevated dog feeder, your dog's diet plays a crucial part in his health. It's easy to get swayed by the number of dog food products out there, and the continuous blitzkrieg of advertising and marketing tactics by dog food companies may leave you confused about what your dog's diet should be.

If your dog relies exclusively on tinned dog food for his daily diet, make sure the food contains all the nutrients that are essential for his well being and health. Take a look at the nutrition label on the food before you buy your next tin. A lot of ingredients find their way to your dog's feeder, and these have very little nutritional value. An inadequate diet can lead to joint and bone problems in a dog leading to an earlier wearing out of his bones, and requiring special items like an orthopedic dog bed. An orthopedic dog bed is a dog bed that's made for older dogs who might have difficulty adjusting to a regular bed that offers no extra support.

Here are a few things you might want to look out for to avoid health problems in your dog. The first four ingredients in your dog's food label should be meat and proteins. Watch out for inferior sources of protein like Soya and wheat. A dog needs meat protein to be healthy. Not only do wheat, corn soy and other inferior sources have less good protein, they are also hard to digest giving your dog stomach and digestion problems down the line.

Watch out for sugar. A diet high in sugar can cause a dog to be prone to worms, and can cause hyper activity.

When chicken is part of a dog food diet, it should include chicken meal as the main ingredient, and not simply chicken. Many manufacturers use the beak, feather and other unwanted parts of the chicken to fill their tins, and these are a pretty much useless source of protein.

If you have questions about your dog diet and would like to reassure yourself that what you're feeding is indeed what's best for him, talk to your vet who will be able to advise you better. Some dogs need to be on a special diet, and your vet will be able to inform you if your dog needs a prescription diet.

This author lives in Flemington, NJ with her husband and 5 month old daughter and is an expert contributing author for a luxury dog feeders boutique offering variety of dog beds and orthopedic dog beds

Inconvenient Truths About Online Social Networking and Sales Building

Social networking and overnight explosive growth are gaining increasing cynicism from the online community as a result of fly by night companies promising shortcuts that replace hard and smart work. Remember back in the '90's when everyone was going crazy saying that "eyeballs", "hits", and "click-throughs" were the new business model and everything we knew was to be thrown out the window? After a couple years that hyper pace of progress busted as people realized that mass exposure didn't in most cases mean massive sales. Social networking has lots of pluses but from a sales growth point of view be weary of those that promise the world on your doorstep overnight.

Here are some points to consider when creating a social networking marketing plan:

1. Be clear on what role your social networking plays for your business and what you want to get out of it.

These goodwill exercises that create highly visibility on mass social networks are excellent for creating traffic and helping to boost your search engine rankings but often have very little impact on boosting sales. Marketers are clear about whether they want to generate buzz, publicity, or differentiate from competitors, when they go about brand building and and use the tools that get the best results accordingly. Social networks can be a great vehicle as an extended, and even main PR tool for achieving this.

2. Know how you want social networking to generate new business. Go to where your target market hangs out and looks for information to help their buying decision or go where they are seeking service/product providers. As humans we are still conditioned to a large degree to buy from a credible retailer through fairly traditional channels.

For example, you wouldn't expect to buy your groceries in a book store, nor would you be shopping for new sun glasses in a pet shop. When you go to a shopping mall, you either have the intent to browse or buy specific things but you've chosen a shopping mall versus a walk through social center such as a community exercise club. So, in the same way, when you want your social networking to give you growth results become very active creating profiles, bogging, and advertise in places where people will specifically look for that service or group of services for the sake of taking action and buying.

3. There is no magic for reaching the masses. Time and continuous effort is a trade-off that replace substantial cash spend. Consider the following equation which has been in place for decades for offline marketing: the better your creative, your offer, your delivery, your targeting, the better your return on spend for reaching customers and achieving sales growth.

As you continue to gain experience in social networking you will see how the magic works for smart and well engineered blogs which can allow you to reach masses for brief periods (usually hours or days) with far less cash outlay than traditional offline media. The reason why the reach time is fairly short is due to pure information overload. On a daily basis millions of new pieces of information are released with a fraction becoming the new hot thing like your story. It takes time and continuous effort to build and become part of a social network and have a following which converts into sales leads

Be wary of any online marketer who claims they can defy the rules that time, effort, and cost mandate for building success. Chances are you will be making the service provider successful by parting with your money rather then becoming successful yourself by trying to take shortcuts.

Remember The Dot Com Boom and Bust?

Back in the late 90's and early 2000 we saw the dot com bubble boom and bust. It rose on the promise that all the old rules of business didn't apply and that the "eyeballs" and "hits" and "click throughs" somehow magically would create great investor value which would turn into cash "just because of visibility". Eventually, online businesses found that many of the offline rules of marketing and consumer behavior applied equally well to online marketing.

Yes, there are many new behaviors which we are being learned about and technically speaking there are very powerful ways to leverage the Internet to help promote sales... but be careful if anything appears to promise success overnight. 98% of people who succeed will tell you it took work, smarts, persistence, and constant refinement to achieve their success. Succeeding at the online social networking arena is not much different.

4. Consider mass visibility the same things as brand building and brand awareness. Tapping into a lot of friends online is great and social networks can help you increase visibility significantly. However, consider this exercise as the same strategic techniques marketers use for reaching the masses offline. By communicating to a large social network who are not in a buying mode, you create a valuable impression which gives you added credibility for when they are ready to buy. As a result you will be more highly considered then an offer they have never seen before.

Critical Annotation - Carey, M, Wincze, J (2001) - Sexual Dysfunction, Second Edition

Wincze has given an enlightening overview of sexual dysfunction in the book, Sexual Dysfunction, second edition. Throughout the book, the reader grasps the concept of what sexual dysfunction is and then understands how to work with clients with sexual dysfunction.

First, counselors need to understand what sexual dysfunction is. There are various definitions; however, Wincze states sexual dysfunction is an impairment or disturbance in sexual desire, arousal, or orgasm. The disturbance can be branched out into many sub-parts including hyper or hypo activity, pain, and fear.

Next, counselors look at the etiology of the sexual dysfunction. The basics of working with a client's sexual dysfunction are to know that there is no simplicity to it. The core of the problem is not merely found in one or two specific items in the client's life; however, an array of factors that have added up to the point where the client seeks help. Counselors need to understand the depth and extent of the time it will take to work through problems with the client. Neither the counselor nor the client knows the exact cause, root of the problem, thus making it impossible to fix within a short amount of time. Working through the problem may also cause further problems to emerge from the subconscious to the conscious, making an extensive therapy even longer.

Throughout Sexual Dysfunction, Wincze touches on a plethora of specific sexual disorders including how to assess and treat each one. However, while reading Wincze's book, the idea of having more than one disorder is carelessly overlooked. Some clients may have clinical aspects of several dysfunctions, but lean more towards a specific one.

Another topic, which was not expounded upon, was the topic of sexual preferences. The therapists must understand the client's sexual preferences and accept the client's sexual preference rather than molding the client into a social acceptance box. Therapists must be open to accept the client's variety of atypical sexuality and work with the problem without allowing the therapists' personal views and feelings to intervene. The counselor must be very careful of transference. Working with clients who are far outside the social 'norm' may make many counselors unable to treat the problem. This is where referrals are necessary.

Overall, Sexual Dysfunction is a great overview and insight to what sexual dysfunction is and how to assess and treat it. Wincze mixes no words and does not hold back when giving information on the subject. Even if a counselor is not going into the field of Sexual Therapy, Sexual Dysfunction is a great book to read for a mere understanding, which will allow the therapist to do an efficient referral.

How to Prevent Knee Injuries in Ballet Shoes and Pointe Shoes

The knee joint is engineered beautifully. It has ligaments to prevent too much movement in any given direction, and a shock absorber as well, the meniscus behind the kneecap, or patella.

Classical ballet, and other athletic activity involves sudden change of direction, twisting, leaping, and sudden starts and stops.

Fortunately in ballet, we have turnout to assist us with these factors.

If our turnout is not strong, there is risk to the knee joint.

If our posture is incorrect, in the low back and core area, there is risk to the knee joint. Crunched and chronically tense rotator (turnout) muscles, quads (thigh muscles), hamstrings (back of thigh muscles), result from an incorrect pelvic position. This leads to nearly all the other muscles involved in ballet technique, ballet positions and ballet movements, being held in tense positions, instead of being fluid.

While tension is needed to dance ballet, tension should be fluid. The years of repetition in ballet training should result in the reflexes needed to constantly increase and release tension.

Think of your favorite ballerinas and leading male dancers. One of the observable qualities to their dancing is the effortlessness. They make it look so easy. You don't necessarily think of pillars of strength, although they are very strong. You can feel their fluidity when you watch them in difficult roles such as Swan Lake, Don Quixote and other classics.

So, back to the knee joints - ligaments and shocks are in place. We have turnout to make the best use of them.

Foot strength is a major factor. A high percentage of the general population pronates, that is, allows their feet to collapse toward the inner side, when they walk, run, dance, whenever their feet hit the ground.

Proper posture, use of turnout muscles, correcting hyper-extended knees placement, if hyper-extension is present, and strengthening of the intrinsic (exclusive to the foot) muscles can compensate for this factor and prevent knee injuries.

Knowing how to relax muscles after hard work, for instance with a pinkie ball, is a needed element in ballet training, as well. Not many ballet students have the time or opportunity to get regular massages. But hard working muscles must get relaxed, and must be given recovery time, neither of which factors are typical in ballet training.

If you are involved in ballet training and have ANY pain or persistent soreness in your knees, see a professional. A chiropractor, or physio-therapist with experience in dance or sports injuries will help you.

Also ask your ballet teacher to watch the finer details of your posture, turnout, and foot placement on the floor. These factors are never isolated. Educate yourself as well, with the expertly written dance manuals that are now available to anyone on the internet.

Eat a healthy diet to support your ligaments and muscles. You will be able to prevent knee injuries and enjoy your dancing in ballet shoes and pointe shoes.
