Have you ever noticed that when you mention the name of Ayn Rand that those liberals who know of her work go ballistic? Why? Even American Liberals condemn her, but why? After all this great nation was built on Capitalism and there is nothing wrong with that. In fact everything you see, everywhere you go, was indeed built, bought or brought by an entrepreneur, business person and/or capitalist. You cannot deny that.
Recently in an economic online forum I mentioned Ayn Rand as a reference in one of my monologue postings (writers tend to do that don't they?). Then all heck broke lose as the academic liberals rushed to the scene to help the defeated debaters who did not understand the reference.
Indeed, I was called ignorant, college Freshman philosophy material and even an uneducated brain. This is rather interesting coming from academics, who could not compete with me in the real world and have never delivered any goods or services to the public, other than their rantings liberalism and textbooks they force onto their students at triple the going rate of any real bookstore in our capitalistic society. Not to mention the fact that they have never had to make a payroll.
In fact, for them to label me and think that I am linear in thought is ridiculous, it seems my critics have turned this subject of "Liberalism and Socialism VS Capitalism" into a personal attack on me? Well, I am not going to give them the satisfaction.
Ayn Rand's books do have significant meaning and are of value actually in many regards, indeed they do speak to the modern liberalism trends (which resemble socialism more than the strict liberal definition of days gone by) and unintended consequences that they cause; in that if you attack the movers and shakers and attempt to redistribute their earnings from hard work they will quit and in the end everyone gets less, not more; less!
That is the truth and it is an obvious one, that is one of the themes in Ayn Rand's book. So, she is relevant in that regard to this topic of discussion. I certainly hope this article is of interest and that is has propelled thought. The goal is simple; to help you in your quest to be the best in 2007. I thank you for reading my many articles on diverse subjects, which interest you.
